A New Year's Resolution

Though I don't remember what year I wrote this, it came to mind again as I have been trying to gather my thoughts. There is much going on in my heart and mind these days so I covet your prayers. Thankfully God knows my desires, my struggles, my mind, and my heart and He can do a work in my life this year, which is my earnest prayer.

A New Year's Resolution

Lord, I cannot do it on my own,
Your strength is what I need.
Will You do the changing, Lord,
To help me spiritually succeed?

I seem to have gotten in a rut
Doing the things I've done before.
Change me from the inside out
And help me love You even more.

To be like You is what I want
No matter what it takes.
Do what You need to do with me
Whether high or low the stakes.

It probably won't be easy
But Your grace will see me through,
As I seek to please You with my life -
This year I dedicate to You.
